Make a Thank You card in PaintShop Pro See the youtube video version here:  https://youtu.be/ycnqf_dwH1s This tutorial was inspired by a thank you card I received in the mail.  I liked the design and wanted to replicated it in PaintShop Pro. The first step is to create the rainbow background.  For this I just used a cloud-type brush , and worked my way from one corner of the image to the other, transitioning the colors to follow the rainbow pattern. After laying all the base colors, I changed the opacity to 50% and blended the transition regions.  The final result is the following: To add some variance for experimentation purposes, I used the Smudge brush with a large size and randomly swirled different parts of the background.  This yielded the following image: Next let's work on the top layer of the card, what I'll call the "cut-out" layer.  We are going to make this one using vector graphics .  To start off, let's make the bor...

Split a Face View the video of this tutorial on youtube here:  https://youtu.be/0uyNyhItTHs In this tutorial we'll cover how to create the effect of splitting a face, or head for that matter, placing a gap in between.  As well, we'll play with some effects to produce both a cold frozen effect, and a glowing firey effect.  Split the Face For the firs step, duplicate the original image.  One layer will be the left side of the face, and other layer will be the other side of the face. Next create a new vector layer , and use the Pen - Bezier Curve to draw the dividing line on the subject's face (watch this video to learn how to draw with the Pen tool).   Use markers on the image to keep the line in the center of his face.  Some markers to consider are the bridge of the nose, the divet in the upper lip, the adam's apple, etc. You can do a course draw first, and then refine each point later. Vector Graphic Library in PaintShop Pro See the youtube video version of this at:  Make Shop Pro - Vector Graphic Library This tutorial will cover the process of saving a custom drawn vector object as a reusable vector shape .  On beneficial use case for this would be generating comics.  If you have a set of characters you want to reuse again, saving the vector objects would save you a lot of time. Setup Environment The first step in the process of saving a vector shape is to first have some environment fields setup.  To get to the menu necessary for setting them, select the Preset Shape tool.   Then in the tool bar, open the preset shapes icon, and click on the File Locations button.  The following dialog box should appear (shown below). The next major step is drawing the general figure of Jigglypuff using the preset shapes .  You can see from the image that is just a mixture of circles and ovals, and a single bezier line for the mouth.  The goal here is to get the objects proportions and arrangement with one another set correctly.  Details will be added later. Shapes To draw a shape, simply click on the Vector Graphic tool which will be any of the icons below depending on what was selected last.
